Had a great day on Lake Travis. Had a client take his 2 young sons, 6 and 9, out with me on this beautiful day. They had a blast catching a variety of fish, including bluegill, largemouth bass and Guadalupe bass.
We found some schooling bass up towards the beginning of the trip which made for some fast action. The kind that keep the young ones engaged. The 6yo had a blast catching the most and showing off. The older one took his time and caught a few better fish.
We used swimbaits and a lipless crank to start off and when the topwater bite slowed down, we switched to soft plastics, mostly worms, and caught some deeper fish. All in all, an excited-filled day on the water.
