Went out on a midday trip on Lake Travis. A small front went through late morning but didn't last long and the temperature dropped and came back and that's when I hit the water.
I didn't go far from the ramp and pulled up to some submerged trees on an underwater point and started catching right away. Seemed to be every other cast that I had one tied on. Most were small but some were 2-3 pounds. I continued fishing on main lake stuff like this until another front hit and the temp dropped again. This only made the fishing better though actually. So I started figuring out the bite better and started targeting bass in the small cuts off main lake and then the size improved.
I think there's still some bass spawning on the lake as I had several bites where I could see the line move off a spot and stop and no fish on it when I lifted my line. This is where you have to be really fast to get a hook in 'em. I started doing this and caught them all. I also caught some bigger fish up to 5 pounds so this made for a great time on the lake in the short time I was out there.
Best 5 were easy 20+ pounds! Book today and I'll get you on some of this action!
